Homemade Strawberry Salad Dressing!

Ingredients for Amberly's Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette

I am cooking with a client tonight and we are making a large salad and salmon. Since I can’t use most conventional salad dressings, they contain a boat load of gross ingredients, I am making my own!

Kraft Strawberry Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing and Marinade.

Water, Vinegar, Sugar, Strawberries, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Balsamic Vinegar (Wine Vinegar, Grape Juice, Water), Soybean Oil, Salt, Contains Less Than 2% of Caramel Color, Spice, Citric Acid, Propylene Glycol Alginate, Modified Food Starch, Poppy Seeds, Xanthan Gum, Dried Garlic, Red 40 Lake, Pectin, Natural Flavor, Acetic Acid, Potassium Sorbate And Calcium Disodium Edta (to Protect Flavor).

Propylene Glycol Alginate… say what? A thickener used in food products. Third ingredient is sugar… WHY!? Strawberries are sweet enough!

Remember if you can’t pronounce it DON’T EAT IT!

Hmmm… I seem to be a few ingredients off!

-Put all the ingredients into your magic bullet, food processor or blender and let her rip.

– If you don’t have a blender, cut the strawberries up, then muddle them with a spoon or a pestle and mortar, add the other ingredients and shake shake shake!

(The reason I use thawed strawberries is that they blend better with the ingredients)
